Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the trip back to San Mateo was TERRIBLE. First we discovered that the suitcases were too small to bring back more stuff than the Playstation (essential), some textbooks (for studying), and a few articles of clothing. Then we had to lug our suitcases and backpacks to the bus stop, which probably took around 40 minutes. So that was 40 minutes of coldness and tire from having to carry the luggage. Next came the hour-and-a-half bus ride, which was even more hellish. Not only did we have trouble lugging the baggage onto and off of the bus, the bus was also crowded and stuffy. On top of that, we were both extremely sleepy but couldn't actually fall asleep b/c of the uncomfortable chairs. So instead we just kept nodding off and waking up sore to discover that only 2 minutes had passed. It was like CS class all over again. Finally, going through security and having to wait 1.5 hours for our plane was also not too great. So...yeah. Kind of glad to be back though (even though there doesn't seem to be too much to do....sigh...San Mateo and it's community college "tourist attractions"....-__-;;)

Gave up on that adventure game (again). I don't know why I bother starting them.

Mom attempted to play DDR today, which was highly amusing. She kept making exaggerated movements to get the simplest arrows. I think Chen and I have been gradually getting better at it though...we can do a few songs in expert mode, even (pretty good considering our slow reactions and lack of athletic ability -__-).

Need..to..play..more..FFX-2. Or else I'll never finish it because I won't have time to play it once classes start again. And waste my money T.T

Went and saw "Love Actually" on Sunday and "Stuck On You" today. Both were pretty good, but I liked "Stuck On You" a lot better (partly because "Love Actually" was kind of corny...and I guess none of the relationships were developed that well b/c they weren't given enough screen time)....it's was so sweet ^_^ We planned on sneaking into another movie, but this lady kept eying us suspiciously. And while I was waiting for Chen to come out of the bathroom, she told me, "You can't go into another movie." I was just standing there! And nowhere near any theater entrances! Bitch. I should sue for discrimination (even though she was kind of right, haha). Anyway, so we had to just leave after seeing one movie.

Final grades are out, and thank heaven for curves!
Microbiology6: A+ (94.6%)
Math32A: A (88.6%)
Computer Science31: A- (86.7%)
Once again, thank heaven for curves! That gives me a 3.9 GPA, a nice cushion for suckier classes later (like when I get killed by CS32 next quarter -_-).

Got A in microbio, yay ^_^ That'll definitely help my GPA.

Am back home now, and it's been pretty boring despite the presence of DSL and PS2. Don't want to start letter to grandparents yet, as that is always torture.

I feel surprising productive today (even though I wasn't). I did laundry, ordered textbooks from Half/Amazon, and bought this little gunblade letter-opener thing that I might give to Daniel for Christmas. The textbooks won't come for a while, so that'll give me an excuse to push back studying. Muahahaha.

Also played some FFX-2 and an adventure game called Broken Sword 3. And both have been pretty fun ^_^

Today's math final seemed okay, but I feel very screwed for the microbio final tomorrow, despite having studied 10+ hours. Too much to memorize >_<

Will be leaving for home tomorrow night. We'll have to take the bus to the airport (to save $40 by not taking the shuttle), which equals us in public transit with large suitcases. So we'll see how that goes.

Winter break is going to suck b/c Dad'll force us to practice programming (also it was recommended by profs in preparation for CS32 -__-). Please kill me if I ever decide to pursue a career as a programmer (or worse, a programmer who does nothing but debugging~). And I don't want to work at the Grill! No more Grill, ever, please!

I hate goodbyes. Even thinking about it makes me teary-eyed.
Damn it, winter break. I am going to miss him. So much.
The 9th was 2 months.

CS final sucked hard. I spent 20 min working on a problem that I ended up leaving blank...because I couldn't find the "undefined behavior" in the code T.T (10% off right there). And I left half of the other problems blank...not to mention I felt like I messed up completely on a problem that has us write out what the program would print out....b/c there so many goddamned pointers pointing every which way.

Before the test, we referred to it as "Apocalypse in xx hours", during the test there were repeated mummblings of "oh shit" from every direction, and afterwards, it became known as "the test that robbed my soul." I wished hard for >50%...and in the end I got 72%! Which is a lot better than I thought I did. That should give me a solid B in the class, which might become a B+ with the curve ^_^ Luckily I already told my mom that I might be getting a C, thus psyching her up to be happy with a B, muahaha.

Academics-wise, high school seems like such a joke compared to college. I am hoping and wishing that I can maintain above a 3.0 so I can keep my scholarship -___-;;

Oh god, finally done w/this last CS project (~1100 lines of code >_<). It's a game where you (represented by @ symbol) can move around a grid filled with enemy robots (represented by R for 1 robot, 2 for 2 robots, etc.). On each turn, each robot will move randomly once. You can choose to move once, shoot in one direction (lazer will only work 1/3 of the time though), stand, or have the computer make the move. A huge chunk of the code was already done for us, but the AI took soooo long -___-;; And it took even longer to test it...by pressing 'c' repeatedly over and over again. I've finally gotten it to the point where my AI can win the game by killing all robots (press 'c' repeatedly for AI)...very few of the times...but at least some of the times. Click for download...but...really, you can imagine how great it looks considering everything is represented by keyboard characters -___- :

Robot Game Download
Source Code (It's ugly, I know.)

Professor made the next CS class sound really really bad. I feel a little swamped now b/c the CS project usually takes 2-3 days a week, but apparently next quarter each project will take ~8hrs per day >___< He recommended that we take really easy classes for the other courses and drop those if we feel too swamped.....And we're supposed to treat the class like a job! Aaaahhhhhhhhh >_____< ! I even have one more class next quarter than I have now!

Sunday:
Walked w/Daniel to EBGames to get FFX-2. Actually, the main reason he went was to coax EB into giving Jack (his friend) his GameCube. A few days ago, the two of them entered into some War Craft III tournament, for which there were 5 prizes: 4 $5 printing credits and 1 GameCube. Dan won 3 of the printing credits (woohoo, $15 of printing -__-) while his friend got the GameCube. Apparently, there were a lot of people there (including girls...*gasp*) at the beginning, but they all left after realizing how much they sucked after the first game...hehe. Anyhoo, the EB people were supposed to be there but weren't, which meant that they might not go through with their GameCube-donated-as-prize agreement. So...yeah....we went to EB to ask a/b the GameCube, but, in the excitement of getting FFX-2, we completely forgot to ask about it. Go figure. Anyhoo, the game cost $55.41 (including tax), so, counting in the money I was scammed out of on eBay, I spent ~$90 on this game. So it'd better be great. We watched Daniel play his copy for a few hours (instead of doing hw -__-)....it was pretty cool, although the pop-star class, as well as Yuna's running, was decidedly "pansy". I'm planning to spend all Winter Break playing it, so I hope I don't spoil myself too much by watching other people play.
